BRANKO BOŠNJAK 18TH MEMORIAL

Branko Bošnjak 18th memorial was held on October the 12th in Samobor's gymnasium, and on this traditional international tournament participated representatives from many European countries: Austria, Bulgaria, France, Lithuania, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland. Goals of this memorial tournament were to keep memories on died croatian homland soldier Branko Bošnjak as well as emphasizing importance of sports in battle against addiction. 

 

This traditional tournament in last seventeen years gained huge reputation among members of European kyokushin karate organisation. Every year number of participants is raising and on this year's Memorial for medals competed more than 50 competitors.

Special highlight goes to bulgarian competetor Dimitar Trampov, who won first place in heavy category (+90kg), and was also awareded for best sport spirit. Sensei Trampov is 48 years old and with persistence and excellent fights won opponents twice as younger.  Award for best fight tehnique won hungarian representative Csaba Gal.

Memorial karate tournament was founded in memory on Branko Bošnjak, Croatian solder and member of Mladost Samobor for many years, who lost his life in Homeland war as member of Special Unit Police PU Alfa Zagreb. Memorial is held in Samobor sice 1995. In organisation of Karate Club Mladost Samobor in co-organisation with Special unit police Alfa Zagreb veteran association.

Tournament was held under patronage of Ministry of defence, Ministry of internal affairs and Ministry of science, education and sports, City of Samobor and Sport's Association of Samobor, which representatives also attended Memorial.

On behalf of hosts and organisators on opening ceremony president KC Mladost Ljiljana Šurbek Bošnjak greeted competitors, guests and crowded Samobor's gymnasium. Organisators also showed gratitude to all supporters of this valuable sports manifestation with gifts.
