Shinkyokushin supports the tsunami victims- 24 hours KARATE in Copenhagen

It’s been more than a month since the tsunami struck the Tohoku region in Japan. We all still remember how buildings, roads and entire cities were swept away, leaving large areas of land desolate and totally razed. It was terrifying.

Many lives of children and adolescents were suddenly turned upside down. There used to be functioning communities with schools, universities, hospitals, roads, shops, but everything we use to consider normal was in a few minutes taken away. Many children have lost relatives and friends, their homes, a steady and regular life. Everything became different forever.
Slowly Tohoku’s cities will be rebuilt, but it will never be the same for children and adolescents who have had to experience this tragedy. To heal the wounds, it will take years – if they ever heal.

It is here that we, as an budo-organization, can show what our kyokushin spirit can achieve.
We have planned a fundraising action. The purpose is, to assist local Dojo in the Tohoku region to be as quickly as possible working normally again. We all know what karate training is doing to us and what difference it can make. We believe that it can do a lot of good if children and young people can have a place to train karate and get away from their traumatic experiences.
